Percussion with Katherine F.

My name is Katherine and I am in my third year at the Frost School of Music at the University of Miami. I am originally from New Jersey, and before coming to school at Frost, I was fortunate enough to perform in venues such as Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, Ithaca College, Drew University, Rutgers University, as well as every major concert hall in Vienna and Budapest. At Frost, I perform regularly with the Frost Wind Ensemble, the Frost Symphony Orchestra, Frost's New Music Ensemble (Ensemble Ibis), and the Frost Percussion Group. In March of 2018, I was fortunate enough to be featured as a soloist with the Frost Symphonic Wind Band in the performance of David R. Gillingham's "Concerto for Four Percussionists." Though I have a passion for percussion, I also have a love for teaching. My goal is to help my students grow to be great musicians while also having fun while studying percussion!
