Singing with Katherine D.

With over a decade of music-teaching experience, Katherine D. provides a high-quality education while promoting students' creativity and appreciation for music. Students learn to play piano, sing, play fretted instruments, read music, and create their own songs. As a teacher, Katherine prides herself in being enthusiastic, patient, and professional. She holds a B.M. in Music Education from the Crane School of Music and has acquired Level 1 certification in Dalcroze, a movement-based music teaching method. She has experience teaching students as young as 5 and as old as 70. Besides her private practice, she has taught general music, choir, band, and musical theater in public schools, religious institutions, community colleges, and more. Katherine has experience teaching students with special needs (autism, learning disabilities, emotional/behavioral, physical), and she enjoys finding creative ways for students to process and enjoy the experience of music-making.
