    About Kate Z.

Hello! My name is Kate Z. I am currently a music performance major with a concentration in classical percussion from The University of Texas-Rio Grande Valley. I have been studying music ever since I was 11. Music has been a passion of mine. I enjoy teaching students and helping anyone out when it comes to their music education. Even if I do not know all the answers, I do enjoy helping students find their way to the correct answer by breaking things down to the simplest fundamentals and building up to our answer. I do understand that all of my students have different learning rates, and that's great! I find it gives diversity to my class and allows for other students to learn things they may have missed. I love explaining things into as much detail as I can because I want to give out as much knowledge as I have to others. I do enjoy teaching more in a class setting, but am more than happy if a student wants more one on one time in order to excel or catch up on material! Happy learning! Experience

    Musician

    Aug, 2006 - Present

    N/A

From the moment I picked up my first pair of sticks, I have always considered myself to be a musician. I have had 10 years experience within the music world and have been tutoring my own peers musically ever since! I have taken courses ranging from applied percussion to world music, from history of rock, all the way to music theory and ear training. In the past, I have also served as a section leader as well. Of course I have taken many courses in between, but these are just a few examples from my experience, and I can say that I have had a great one so far!
