Classical approach to singing all genres! Instruction is focused on building your technique of posture, breathing, resonance, vowel clarity, and tension-free singing. Along with technique we work on finding your own style, your true voice, understanding musicality, stage presence, and getting over performance freight (I have great tools to help out with this!) I want to make sure you feel confident singing in front of audiences and vocally healthy to do it for the long run.

I want to see you succeed! You can take lessons from anyone, but unless that person has the same goals as you, your progress will slow. I want to make your goals my own! I have been a voice teacher for over a decade and my students have made significant vocal milestones, obtaining the goals that they set out to accomplish. Whether it be to sing an open mic, audition for a show, sing for your sweetheart, go to music school, produce that album, gain more confidence, learn music fundamentals and theory, recover from heartbreak or medical injury, WE WILL ACCOMPLISH YOUR GOALS! I have a Bachelor’s and a Master’s of Music in Voice and am excited to hear you sing. All ages and experience welcome! Let’s get you singing the best you ever have!

Kate has been a wonderful fit for my daughter.  She took time to get to know her learning styles and what she responds to, and has really incorporated that into how she approaches my daughter's lessons.  She is flexible, friendly, and encouraging.  I highly recommend her as a voice instructor!

Ms. Smith is absolutely wonderful! She is patient and through with the lessons. I wish I had more time in my week to schedule with her. I highly recommend her for helping you build confidence with singing in front of others.

Although I am a very basic level student, I found the instruction given by Ms. Smith to be very useful and appropriate to my situation. She is fun and energetic which keeps me motivated.

Kate is a great teacher! She made me feel comfortable quickly and helped me open up out of my shy self. I was able to take a theater audition and stay calm!
