I am a singer and a passionate teacher. I have a Master of Music in Voice Performance from the Manhattan School of Music, and a Bachelor of Music from UMass Amherst. I have performed in Washington DC, New York, Hawaii and New England in classical, opera, musical theater, folk, and cabaret shows. I have taught kids through adults in all styles of music.
In addition to teaching good vocal technique, I also train my students in performing and interpreting their songs. I give lessons based on two principals: 1st, Singing is about communication. You cannot divorce the meaning from the song. 2nd, each person is capable of creating a unique interpretation and performance of every song they sing. My desire is to help students learn to express themselves through music.

Kate is very enthusiastic, gentle and encouraging. My daughter had a blast at her first lesson and looks forward to the next.
Kate was my voice and piano student and a member of the World Children's Choir for 12 years. I have followed her development and her career since she graduated. She is a wonderful mother, world class performer, a very patient and supportive person, and has great teaching skills. Every word that she wrote in her Overview is true. Anyone of any age who has Kate as her/his teacher will be very fortunate.+ Read More
