Piano with Kate I.

Ms. Kate is a former school teacher and has been playing piano herself over 35 years. She has experience of teaching students from age three to adults at all different levels. she loves music, piano, and at most, teaching. Ms. Kate is classically trained but plays pop, contemporary, jazz, blues, ragtime as well as classical music. Other than piano, she plays the violin and she enjoys singing. She is a member of a choir group where she continues to receive musical instruction. She strives to grow as a teacher as well as music player. Ms. Kate believes in power of being able to read sheet music. Her first goal for a beginner student is to teach how to read sheet music. She believes that being able to read music is the basis for playing any instrument, including piano. Learning how to play piano takes certain level of discipline. However, Ms. Kate's lesson plan always includes FUN PLAY TIME. Ms. Kate is a member of Music Teachers Association of California.
