    About Kat C.

Hi! My name is Kat. I've tutored math off & on all of my life, well at least since 3rd grade. I graduated college with a BS in Math & a Teaching Credential in 1973. However, I worked as an Engineer most of my adult life including a lot of computer programming, technical analyses, strategic planning and public speaking. I have a lot of experience with APPLYING math concepts as well as tutoring them! I also tutor Reading Comprehension as easily & effectively as Math. I love to answer the student questions about "why am I learning this?" and "when will I ever use this." I specialize in all math from very basic up through Algebra I and Geometry because #1= I love them! #2= I can usually relate ANY math concept you need to learn to your own present life and future goals and #3= I can teach most concepts 3 or more different ways, as needed, until you're sure you know it. I've had my own tutoring business for ten years and helped hundreds of students. I've also trained dozens of tutors. I recently moved from Northern California to Connecticut. I look forward to meeting you & making math FUN!

Private tutoring in Math for many years before this. I tutor as often as I can because I love to see the "aha - I get it!" expressions on the faces of students. In 2007, I attended specific courses and added tutoring in Reading Comprehension, Essay Writing, Study Success and additional English Language Arts and become a licensed professional instructor with Applied Scholastics International in order to train others to tutor K-8 reading, writing and Math.
