I have over 8 years of experience teaching piano, and hold a Masters degree in Piano Pedagogy. All ages are welcome! I put much effort and creativity into piano teaching. I am great at connecting with students, meeting them where they are, and improving their skills. My favorite part about teaching is helping students learn to love music by teaching them how to practice efficiently, interpret emotions, and play music that is inspiring!

I am a classically trained pianist currently living in San Diego and teaching at a local nonprofit music school. I have over 20 students, ages 4-60, and they each bring me so much joy to teach! I love creating lesson plans to cater to each one of my student's needs. 
I graduated from the University of Oklahoma with my Masters in Piano Performance and Pedagogy last May, and gained so much from this experience. 
I also play the flute in a community band, and enjoy experiencing music in all its forms.

Karlin is such a fun and knowledgeable teacher! I hadn’t taken piano in a number of years, and she helped me find several pieces appropriate for my level. She worked with me on helpful exercises to improve my playing and was patient with me as I learned. I felt safe when I made mistakes and comfortable when she helped me correct them. Karlin is an amazing pianist herself and knows how to teach others. Her friendly and outgoing personality makes her a great teacher for students of any age! I always looked forward to piano lessons with Karlin!
