    About Karl L.

Karl is a professional musician in New York City. He plays with ska-punk band Streetlight Manifesto and in several Broadway show orchestras. Karl hails from Omaha, Nebraska where he started teaching privately in high school. He received his B.A. from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln where he became well-versed in jazz and classical. Karl then completed a Master's at New York University where he was an adjunct faculty instructor. He has taught individual and group lessons to students of many ages on trombone, trumpet, and bass guitar. Karl’s teaching style is grounded in fundamentals but also tailored to each student. He believes that music can enrich one’s life by improving discipline and the ability to multitask. Most importantly, it's fun!

Great instructor! Karl provides quality material and excellent feedback that has helped improve my trombone playing. He curates the lessons to my interests while still pushing my playing skills to its limits. I definitely recommend lessons with Karl!
