Flute with Karina E.

Hi there! My name is Karina Eijo, and I work with young flutists who are sick and tired of struggling alone (been there, done that, bought the t-shirt). I remind them that they are capable of doing anything that they set their minds to, and I give them the tools to learn how to practice so that they can be the best flute divas or the flute bosses that they deserve to be. I am a professional flutist who has played the flute for 16 years and has a Bachelor of Music Degree and a Master of Music Degree in Flute Performance. By taking flute lessons, you will: Learn how to play the flute with a beautiful sound and play with a kaleidoscope of color in the sound (if you’re going to do it, do it right!) Develop an understanding of rhythms and subdivisions (no, I wasn’t good at math class, but I’m a master of teaching rhythm) Improve audition and performance skills (Ever panic when you see the red recording light? Shaky hands? Out of the breath? I have solutions.) Understand how to play pieces with the typical performance practice of the time period (you’re basically going to be a living version of Bach when I’m finished with you) Develop an understanding of music theory, music history, and performance (Want to know people played the flute in the 1600s? I’ll tell you!) Play while being aware of the body to achieve freedom and ease in the sound (you’re going to learn how the body works and use that to play in a way that’s completely pain-free!) Become an independent learner (Because at the end of the day, I want to give you skills that you can use for the rest of your life).
