I specialize in women's and children's clothing but have experience in all areas and sewing techniques.  I love working with beginners who are eager to learn and those who are ready to step up to their next level of expertise.

Hi, there! My name is Kari and I can't wait to meet you! I've been teaching private lessons since 2006 and have loved helping my students learn to sew, crochet, dye, and craft. I have worked in costume design and craft at the Barter Theatre (State Theatre of Virginia) and am looking to spread my talents with students that are eager to learn. I love working with children and adults alike.  I look forward to helping you reach your goals!

Kari is Awesome. I am an old dud who needed to learn some stitching for my furniture repair business. She was very patient with me, was always on time. Always professional. I highly recommend her. She has a great personality that would be good with kids or adults.

I went to Kari to get help with hidden stitches to make upholstery Seam repairs. She really helped me fix a lot of bad habits. I'll continue to work with her on leather seams as well. She is very professional as a teacher. She has a very good eye and can catch mistakes quickly. I was quite impressed with her artistic abilities. Kari  has a really unique set of skills.

Kari taught my 12 year-old autistic son how to sew a pillow. It was a 6-week process but she was very calm and excited to share her skills.  She did such a good job that I asked her to babysit him after the lessons were over.  She taught classes after school at his Elementary school and the children always had a wonderful experience with beautiful projects to show.
