While a student at Texas Woman's University, I also pursued my TEFL certification. A part of my requirement was student teaching or tutoring. I tutored international students Ghana, India, South Korea, Taiwan, and Mexico. As a teacher, I teach English online to students in China. When I was a student at TWU, I participated in the Education Abroad Program and studied German in Austria and Germany. My background in vocal training and linguistics gives me the skills and knowledge to help my students accomplish the American English oral, reading, and writing skills that they need to advance in school or career. I understand the needs of students to speak conversationally or professionally in the language of the country they are in. I love helping students to learn to speak clearly in order to succeed in oral presentations and to be understood in everyday communication. I enjoy seeing their faces light up when they accomplish a task or lesson by using what they studied and practiced with me.
