Hi singers! My name is Kara and I am a professional singer and voice teacher. I started singing when I joined choir in middle school and never looked back! Throughout middle school and high school, I was very involved in my choir program, competed in several competitions, performed in musicals, and was a member in our competitive a cappella group. I attended Pepperdine University on a music scholarship for undergrad and I went to the University of California, Santa Barbara for grad school on a full-tuition music and academic scholarship. I have sung and enjoy all genres of music and I am passionate about passing on the singing traditions I have learned and studied extensively to the next generation of aspiring singers.

Kara is an incredibly versatile teacher with the knowledge and experience to help young singers successfully reach their personal goals. Through my four years of lessons with Kara, I have learned: different techniques to better my vocal tone, how to better my presence on stage, exercises that help expand my range, and much more. Not only this, but she has personally exposed me to different performance opportunities and auditions. Kara has given me all the resources I need for a performance career and helped prepare me for my audition that admitted me to The Moore's School of Music. You'll never meet a more kind, talented performer. I am incredibly grateful to have spent my time with this wonderful teacher.

Mrs. Covey is honestly such an amazing vocal coach! When I first started lessons, my voice was very “weak” and not at its fullest potential. Not only did Mrs. Covey help me find my voice, but she expanded my range so much and she improved my tone which was my biggest weakness. Because of Mrs. Covey I was first alternate to the all state choir, and it a rating of a 1 at state solo and ensemble every year I’ve competed! Mrs . Covey is the reason for my choral successes in my high school year and on top of all that, whenever I just need someone to talk to shes always there!

Kara is a great teacher and a very experienced and knowledgeable singer. In the year and a half that I have taken lessons from her, she has helped me make big improvements in the strength and quality of my voice. She is extremely reliable and has a systematic approach to teaching that allows me to continue to build upon the skills that I have learned. Kara has educated me in techniques that I can apply to many genres of music and that prevent me from damaging my voice. Just as importantly, she is very kind and supportive to her students and wants to help each of them reach their full potential.
