Originally from Japan, and moved here two years ago.
My father is American and I have been learning English for more than 10 years, so I can speak both English and Japanese.
Currently, I am majoring Linguistics at UC Berkeley and I can speak little bit of Spanish as well.
I had been tutoring English and Japanese on community college campus for a year.
Japanese: I'm teaching beginner, intermediate, and advanced conversation. Not only what is written in text books but words that we actually use in Japan and real Japanese conversation day to day.
I can also teach to pass JPLT, basic business Japanese including some formats of writing a letter and documents.
ESL: mostly, I teach writing but I do reading, listening and speaking too. I've been hearing English since I was born so can pronounce words correctly but I know the pain of learning another language and how people usually struggle.
Message me if you want to learn from expert of learning other languages! I know four different languages:)

I studied Japanese with Kana for almost a year and a half. In that time, she took me from knowing absolutely nothing to being a proficient beginner level speaker. I can now read Hiragana/Katakana every day, have a solid grasp of the different counters and number system, as well as conjugation of u/ru verbs and adjectives and various sentence forms.
Kana was always very patient and never made me feel awkward or uncomfortable. She was willing to go as fast or as slow as I liked and always had the answers to my questions. She was always fun to work with and has become like a friend to me over the time I've studied with her. Highly recommend!
Kana is very personable and a great teacher of Japanese!
Great teacher. She's patient with students and I can tell she has a lot of experience teaching Japanese. Highly recommended.
My daughter really loved it. Thank you!
Kana is very nice, and will explain the sounds so that it's easier to pronounce. Absolutely loved my first class.
After completing three hour long lessons, it's fair to say that I have enjoyed my tutoring with her. She doesn't let things become boring, and helps out with anything you need. Very friendly person as well, so easy to let loose with her. Very good teacher and can't wait to learn more with her+ Read More

Kana does a great job of explaining lessons in detail. She is patient and always happy to answer any questions and help with difficult sentence structures.
Kana is an excellent teacher. She is easy to talk to and very flexible. I am learning a great deal. Even more and more quickly than I expected.
If you want to learn everything from Katakana, Haragana, Kanji, sentence structure, and pronunciation this is a must have instructor! Don't be fooled by here minimal reviews. She is a very thorough instructor.
(I studied with Kana. It was very nice. My Japanese is getting better. Still, there are a lot of things to do. Let's do it! ^_^)
