My name is Kamran, I am 26 years old, and I have been studying martial arts, specifically Kung-Fu, for over 15 years. I have been teaching martial arts and self defense for 11 years to students of all ages from a wide variety of backgrounds. I enjoy teaching a great deal and love helping my students to better themselves. I'm a detail oriented teacher that likes to have fun with his students.
As a beginner you will learn the fundamentals of self-defense from the standpoint of Kung-Fu. This can include, but is not limited to, flexibility, blocking, striking, and strength training. As an intermediate student you will learn more stylized Kung-Fu techniques and how to apply them practically. As an advanced student you will learn more ways to use what you already know as well as more difficult techniques and how to put them to use efficiently.
As far as formal education, I have a Bachelors degree is Health Science from CSU East Bay. I used my time there to round out my knowledge of the human body to improve my knowledge of science, fitness, and martial arts.
On a personal level, I'm a huge nerd. I love comics, books, video games, movies, and just about any other nerdy thing you can image. Overall, I'm pretty laid back and enjoy having fun.
When it comes to instructors and teachers, I've always been extremely selective and immediately put-off from new interests due to poor teachings. Kamran surpassed my expectations and made attending each lesson an enjoyable and comfortable experience. He was both attentive and enthusiastic, making the lessons feel personal to my needs and my goals. He also had a great personality and sense of humor which made the lessons feel less like a chore and more something to look forward to.+ Read More
Kamran has been teaching both my sister (17) and I (21) for a couple of months now. It is the the most comfortable I have ever felt in one on one tutoring. He is very knowledgeable, but also accessible. I'm not afraid to ask questions and I feel like i'm receiving thorough answers. His criticism is constructive and while his compliments are encouraging, they are spared for the moments when I deserve them. I can tell he cares that I actually progress in my training and reach my goals of being able to defend myself as opposed to constantly trying to appease me or boost my ego. I sincerely recommend him for anyone who is serious about learning and wants sound and organized instruction. He is also a great way to start for new learners who are too nervous to join a full classroom setting like myself.
Lastly, I do feel safe training with him. He went to school for kinesiology and is very attentive to my body's health and safety while training.
