Winner of The 2015 American Prize in Voice - Chicago Musical Theater Award, American tenor Justin John Moniz, has earned great acclaim for his “comic chops and huge voice”. Lauded by the South Florida Classical Review as a "superb high tenor" and a "vocal standout", his "refined" work has also been praised by the Miami Herald and Cape Cod Times. His unique style and versatility has afforded him an active career in concert, opera and musical theatre. Mr. Moniz’s students have been praised by the Miami Herald for their ability to bring “a veteran performer’s assurance and personality” to the stage. Many have gone onto perform on Broadway, National Tours, and regionally, with companies including the Utah Festival Opera & Musical Theatre, the Actors' Playhouse, Stagedoor Manor, the Area Stage Company, and Orchestra Miami, where one student made his professional debut in the title role of Menotti’s Amahl and the Night Visitors. To great critical acclaim, this young talent was hailed as “a natural performer” and lauded as “a star in-the-making” (Concerto.net). Website - www.justinjohnmoniz.com

Justin provides an outstanding and quality brand of instruction aswell as a comfortable and focused environment in which to learn, work collaboratively, and take risks when in a musical theatre workshop or lesson. When being vocally warmed up, Justin notices the quality of your voice for that day or time of day and uses different warm ups to accomadate your vocal needs. When working with Justin I am always discovering new things and pushing my limts with his unique mix of practicing material, learning new material, and then coorelating that material into discussions about the business aspect of musical theatre. Justin is not only a fantastic and highly recommeded teacher for me, but has become a mentor and role model to me of what a successful and prolific working actor should be.

I started taking lessons with justin in 2012. At the time I had never taken any vocal training (I was 21), and Justin helped me tremendously in learning how to use my voice. He instilled a great respect for the fundamentals in me, and has always been a generous and helpful presence. I stringly recommend him to anyone looking for a strong and knowledgable instructor.

I had the pleasure of studying with Justin in Miami and I was very happy with him as a vocal coach. He knows all the little tricks that instantly make a difference. I recommend him to anyone who is in pursuit of vocal improvment because his teaching methods are easy to understand. He knows how to get results
