Photography with Justin J.

I am a freelance photographer and a student at CSULB; when I'm not studying mechanical engineering I'm out doing shoots or working on editing photos. I primarily shoot portraits and headshots and I work with brands to create lifestyle images that show off their products. Although I've worked with many different types of companies and individuals, my passion is in street photography, particularly with my medium format film camera. I love documenting things, whether it's taking photos of a clothing brand's new swimsuit or just documenting everyday life around my neighborhood. I fell in love with photography about 7 years ago and I've been working hard to get great shots ever since. When I first got into photography I was taught the history of photography, the fundamentals of composition, and the basics of how to use a camera. I think it's essential that beginner photographers learn and really internalize these things because it will really make a huge difference in the quality of an image. And for photographers who already understand these concepts, there are more advanced concepts that can really elevate photography into a truly creative art form.
