The trumpet is an amazing instrument! The trumpet is unique because it has a loud and powerful sound. I am so excited to teach you more about the trumpet. I am an interactive teacher who can assist you in many ways in regards to learning how to play the trumpet including; correct posture, new breathing techniques, correct fingerings, alternative fingerings, improved sight-reading skills, greater music theory knowledge, and performance skills. I recommend using the Essential Elements for Band book series. Once we connect and I can find out more about your playing level we can find the perfect book for your. I can't wait to work with you :)

About Justin H.

As a highly skilled musician and teacher with proven experience in building music programs, teaching all levels of skill, expressing a high level of artistry, and developing professional relationships; I believe you will thoroughly enjoy working with me. I have been a life long musician, starting with violin lessons at age 4. I then took percussion lessons in elementary school and began playing trombone in my middle school band program. I took piano lessons starting at 15 years old and have been playing since. During my undergraduate studies I took classes to learn all of the brass, woodwind, and percussion instruments. I am a passionate teacher and enjoy inspiring my students to create top-notch music.

One of the most talented musicians I have ever met. While trombone is his main instrument, he plays and instructs exceptionally well on a myriad of other instruments. He is calm and patient with learners and has a very rich knowledge base when it comes to musical literature and technique. I highly recommend Justin Hammis for anyone interested in private lessons.
