About Justin G.
Without a formal upbringing I learned to navigate music and performance in the way that felt most natural to me, by learning through the music I love. I started playing guitar when I was 12 and within a few years began performing in front of people, this year marking 15 years performing live. In that journey I’ve performed in rock bands, played venues such as Lincoln Center and Kennedy Center and backed broadway and musical theater artists. I now work as a session musician, supporting a wide variety of artists ranging from rock to soul to hip hop and country, you name it! Because of this I’m able to adapt to the music that interests you and together we can discover what makes it great. My approach to theory is to take the music you love and appreciate and break it down to discover the theory that lies beneath that allows it to work.
