    Sought-after teacher and violinist Jun Zhu hails from Guilin, China. He began musical studies at age 4. He joined the string department of Sacramento State School of Music for Bachelor of Music, after making his solo debut with the American River College Orchestra as a concerto competition winner, he then went to finish his Master’s Degree at Boston Conservatory of music, studying with Lynn Chang, and serving actively as a key member of first violin section at Boston Conservatory Symphony Orchestra. As an achieved performer, Jun was the winner of the Millennial Chamber Music Competition at Boston Conservatory, Walton Chamber Music Competition at Sacramento State, while had served as a second section violin at Boston Civic Orchestra, the second oldest symphony orchestra in the city. Jun was the principal second at American River College, the principle symphonic ensemble at the institute. Besides leading the section, Jun’s other responsibilities included managing and rehearsing with section members to ensure the highest performance quality. He was the concertmaster of the Folsom Lake College Symphony Orchestra from 2009 -2011. Jun currently serves as a member of first violin section at Folsom Lake Symphony Orchestra. Throughout his career, Jun has shared the stage with many prominent musicians, such as Bruce Hangen, the music director from Orchestra of Indiana hill; Ken-David Masur, Associate Conductor of Boston Symphony Orchestra. Brandon Cho, the first prize winner of the Casado International Cello Competition. Among his many distinction and awards, he was the recipient of the Camerata Capistrano Music Scholarship, Boston Conservatory Scholarship, Pacific Conservatory of Music Excellence in Performance Scholarship and Sacramento State School of Music Merit Scholarship, etc. In addition, he was invited to play for the recording of interpretation class lectured by Mr Benjamin Zander, the music director of Boston Philharmonic, at Robb hall in historicall Boston Public Library. Jun has years of experience teaching students from beginner to advance levels. The purpose of his teaching is to build and cultivate a healthy relationship between the students, music and instruments, by adapting to constantly evolving musical demands of the recital, exams, and contests. Jun constantly motivates and encourages his students to achieve the next level, so they'd be able to enjoy the musical fulfilment. Jun designs a personal approach to each individual student, according to her needs for practice. Many of his students have achieved ABRSM (Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music) exams grade 1 to 8. Many of Jun’s students had performed and shared their music in recitals at various venues in Sacramento area. It’s a joy for Jun to see his students to master the violin, while contribute their craft to their community. In addition to his passion for teaching, Jun is also a frequent chamber and solo recitalist in the Sacramento area.
