Julian has truly been a God-send for me. A brilliant, musician, technician and teacher. He is intelligent, patient, sensitive…so highly in tune with the voice. To say he knows the instrument well is an understatement.  And, just as important, he knows how to work with you as an individual. He has such a skillful way, as any great teacher should, of explaining what he is trying to convey in a variety of ways to help YOU as the student understand. Not all teachers are able to do that, but Julian can. And he makes sure that you understand so you can be your own technician and master of your instrument. I trust Julian. He has helped me and continues to help me understand and find MY voice.

I highly recommend Julian as a teacher. Before studying with him, my voice had a growth spurt, and none of the “well known” teachers I had studied with knew what to do with it. My voice was in pieces, and Julian was the only teacher that was able to help me. He rebuilt my voice, and I couldn’t be more grateful. Julian was able to find my true voice, and I love that I sound like ME! Everyone in the studio has very distinct and different voices from one another. He’s able to find your true and individual vocal potential; he doesn’t just “bandage” the problem. He truly is the best!

Julian Kwok is a technician's technician. He can take large, unruly instruments and whisper them into efficiently wielded, marketable product. He can develop voices of any type to their full potential, but his specialty is, arguably, large voices. He expects a high level of commitment, so my advice: do the work. Doing the work will maximize your experience. He's keenly sensitive and understanding. If you're serious about a career and developing your voice in a healthy way, this is the guy.
