Elevate your art! Drawing/painting skills with artist with 15+yrs experience

Are you looking to develop your skills as a fine artist? Or just need a bit of help perfecting that painting for your grandma's birthday? As a lifelong artist who holds a B.A. in Fine Art and Ad Design, I have the tools to help you get there. We'll have engaging lessons where I walk you through the foundations of creating with pencil, ink, oils, acrylics, and watercolors, as well as other media. I can assist in training your artist's eye so that you can develop a process, while leaving plenty of room for personal expression - which is the key to all art! I work with all ages, in addition to all subjects and styles of art - lessons are customized to each student so you'll be learning exactly what you came here for. Reach out and we'll see what we can create!

    About Julia O.

I am an artist with over 15 years of experience and a passion for sharing art and knowledge with others. After dedicating 5 years to my studies, I earned a B.A. in Fine Art and Ad Design from Northern State University in 2013. Since then, I have been refining my technique, while also developing my teaching style so I can help you fully engage your creativity. I teach all mediums, all ages, and all backgrounds -- I will curate each lesson specifically to you. I approach each student individually by spending part of our introductory lesson discussing your previous art education and work, and more importantly, your inspirations and goals as an artist. From there, we will develop a plan that includes strategies for training your eye, establishing a daily sketchbook routine, finding design and composition solutions, and perfecting proper techniques for your medium. We will find deeper understanding through the discovery of relevant artistic influences and, if appropriate, we will include an Art History lesson and/or a master study, through which you will gain valuable insight. Depending on what it is you'd like to create, we can develop a schedule for your final project. All along the way, I will track your progress and offer detailed and thoughtful feedback to help guide you towards success. My specialties include drawing (pencil, pen, charcoal, chalk, etc.), painting (oils, acrylics, watercolors, etc.), and any version of mixed media that interests you. Whether you're looking to create realistic landscapes, non-objective murals, or impressionistic portraits, I've got you covered. With each lesson, students will find greater confidence in their skills and more enthusiasm for the creative process. Together we will bridge the gap between “seeing” and “doing” so that we can overcome any blocks in your way. My ultimate goal is for you to embrace the act of freely expressing the truest version of yourself.
