Music Theory with Julia N.

I am classically trained as well as trained in Jazz and comp style by reading chord charts and popular song chord progressions. I particularly enjoy classical music, and have numerous awards through the Certificate of Merit Music Teachers Association (MTA) Program of Southern California. I have completed the entirety of the MTA program through their advanced level and have been invited to play at numerous honors recitals. I understand musical theory, chord progressions, the fundamentals of music history, solfege (singing while playing to train the ear to musical notes), and the various aspects of reading and playing music on the piano. I also enjoy playing other instruments such as the alto saxophone, flute, ukulele, and guitar. My lessons will offer beginner and intermediate progression through music theory, classical piano playing, solfege, music history, duets, and extra musical content such as jazz and popular songs if the student is interested.
