Viola with Julia K.

Hi there! My name is Julia. I am very passionate about music and look forward to teaching you! I am a violinist and violist, currently attending Saint Mary's University as an undergraduate student. I have played music all my life and have a lot of experience and knowledge to offer my students. I have studied violin performance at the Conservatoire de Versailles in Versailles, France. I have attended Interlochen Summer Arts Festival where I won concertmaster and assistant concertmaster positions and won the Maddy Summer Artist Award. I have also twice been a member of the National Youth Orchestra of the United States of America, which traveled to Russia and London under the baton of Valery Gergiev. The second year we performed in Carnegie Hall and seven different cities in China. I play in the Mississippi Symphony Orchestra as a violinist and violist and I was the first prize winner of the inaugural International Viola Competition of Mississippi in 2017. I love teaching students of all ages and levels who are eager to learn something new. My focus and background is classical music, but if you want to learn something else, just let me know! My job is to give you a solid technical foundation so that you progress faster and consistently while having fun at the same time! I look forward to teaching you and making music with you!
