Judah M. is a Music Director at his church where he leads a group of musicians with different levels of musical background. He has been a music director for more than 5 years. Being an active and well rounded young man, he was involved in high school in different clubs and extracurricular activities. Marching band, along with sports and academics, were his pride and joy where he learned the discipline of having a good work ethic. “Hard work really works.” – Judah M. Teaching others about music is one of his passions where patience and understanding is second nature. Not only is he a student but has been a math tutor at Glendale Community College. He relates to students in many ways by being able to turn difficult concepts into attainable information. *** Lesson Details *** I am passionate about music. Music makes me smile. I enjoy using humor in learning because it helps relax the brain which causes the mind to open up and accept the given information. I remember what it was like to be learning my instrument and appreciated all those who were patient with me so I try to be patient and understanding. For the most part I am laid back but get work done. I use workbooks to guide the lesson but definitely use my own knowledge to complement the lesson making it enjoyable to learn. I don’t like boring teachers so I try to make it fun and exciting to learn. Taking lessons with me you will have a solid foundation of music and be able to understand what’s going on rather than just memorizing data. I go at the pace of the student and only move on until the student is comfortable with previous knowledge. *** Studio Equipment *** I have an acoustic guitar, bass guitar, and a 61 key keyboard. It would be very convenient if the student had their own instrument. *** Travel Equipment *** I have an acoustic guitar, bass guitar, and a 61 key keyboard. It would be very convenient if the student had their own instrument. *** Specialties *** Methods and styles I use are repetition. As well as breaking down the material to the simplest form. I am pretty well rounded when it comes to genres but enjoy the following: Jazz, Gospel, and Christian Music.
