SPSS, Statistics Tutor Specializing in Dissertation/Thesis and College Students

I specialize in helping PhD Candidates working on their dissertations, but I make SPSS & Statistics accessible to all regular students by demystifying the vagaries of statistics and SPSS and speaking straight forward English. I also break down the important concepts in each analysis into step by step parts that give students a strong understanding and concept of what they are doing. I have over 20 years of experience with both statistics and SPSS and have been tutoring and teaching for several years. I teach everything from basics of distributions and descriptive statistics (mean, median, mode, standard deviation, etc) to advanced inferential statistics including the formation of research questions and the Ho (null hypothesis) and the Ha (alternate hypothesis). I have a strong knowledge of the major statistical tests used to test hypotheses including one-sample t-test, independent samples t-test, paired samples t-test, ANOVA, ANCOVA, correlation, simple and multipole regression, logistic regression, reliability tests, tests of normality, test of equal variance, factor analysis, and more. I teach all of the these from the simplest to the most complicated in straight forward terms that are accessible to students with or without a background in statistics. I am passionate about teaching research and statistics and have a knack for explaining these in straight forward understandable, and engaging terms. If I understand it, I can explain it to my student!

    About JP C.

I am the rare statistics and research tutor who can help students at every level with straight forward explanation of how to run and interpret statistics. Once I understand it, I can explain it in comprehensible terms to my students. Academic Experience: Though my specialty is working with PhD candidates on the research and statistics portion of their dissertations, my experience is quite diverse. I have many years of tutoring experience specializing in statistics at every level including AP Statistics coursework in High School, undergraduate & graduate statistics coursework in University, and statistics for dissertations that culminate PhD studies. I have a strong aptitude in statistics from descriptive statistics (mean, median, mode, standard deviation, etc) to complex inferential statistics starting with creating a robust research question with formal hypotheses. I am strong in a range of statistical tests including one-sample t-tests, independent and paired t-tests, ANOVA (one-way to multi-factorial), MANOVA, repeated measures, correlation, regression, factor analysis, and more. Real World Experience: I also have over a decade of experience working in Corporate Marketing Research for leading companies like WellPoint Health Networks, Symantec, Scripps Newspapers and UCLA Extension to provide you with valuable insight into how research and statistics are used in the real world.  I approach research and statistics with a gusto, a depth, and a clarity that benefits my student.
