I am a professional music therapist who has dedicated my professional life to sharing music with individuals with all different ability levels. I graduated from Ohio University in 1998 with a Bachelor's Degree in Music Therapy and I've been working in the Cleveland and Akron areas for the past 19 years. I taught piano lessons for school aged children and adolescents for many of these years and I really enjoy the 1-1 interaction and the ability to customize a lesson based on the student's goals. I use all types of music (even modern rap) and I enjoy adapting music for different ability levels to keep my students motivated and excited to learn. I also play flute and remember clearly the hard work it took to be competitive in the flute world as a young student. I can help your young flutist succeed in the school band or orchestra, prepare for contest and competitions and play fun Holiday songs for family. My lessons are fun and success-oriented and I enjoy challenging students when they need to be challenged. I am also sensitive to my students stress levels and anxieties and I know when it's healthy for them to take a break, work on a new piece or learn a piece of music in a new way. I have a background check every year for my full time job and I am CPR and first aid certified.
