Lessons can be explorative, structured, soothing, a fun challenge, or all of the above. Teaching is my passion and privilege. I specialize in contemporary piano and voice performance, songwriting, and music production. My number one goal with students is to foster a creative, supportive, and collaborative environment. I work with students of all ages and levels of experience. Whether you are new to music or are looking to improve your skills, everyone is welcome. I studied music composition and performance at Berklee College of Music and Boston University (Psychology B.A., 2012). In addition to teaching, I am an independent artist and producer based in Boston, MA. I have written, produced, and performed on a number of EPs, singles, and full-length albums for myself and other artists. I love to cater each lesson to individual student needs. Whatever your goals are in music I will provide the structure, resources, and space to get you there. Looking forward to making music with you!

Josh gave both me and my son (who was between 5-7) lessons in our home, and he was a fantastic teacher, whether for a young child or an adult (who hadn't played since high school). He is patient and flexible and really worked to figure out the best strategies to work us both!
I'm a beginner. Josh has been patient and relentlessly positive, and he's helped me immensely to build good habits, to move towards a goal, and to explore possibilities.
Josh is a really well-versed teacher helping me achieve my goals providing lyric exercises, music theory tips and production techniques to songs I bring him. Highly recommend!
