Music has always been a part of Josh's life. He started playing around with instruments at the age of three and singing at the age of seven. He instantly fell in love with music and grew a passion for it. At the age of five he attended his first musical concert, Garth Brooks. Josh loved every minute of it and he could see himself on a stage like Garth Brooks in the future. One day he heard someone playing guitar down in an alley and from that day forward he knew he wanted to play that instrument and it would become his specialty. In high school he played in the jazz band and was the lead guitarist. He also picked up the trumpet and played it in the jazz band. During his high school days music became his life and he created his own personal band. He wrote songs for his band and learned how to mix and record all of his own songs. When he graduated high school Josh pursued music in every way. He continued to play in bands and was on stage anytime he could be. Later he decided he wanted more schooling in music and he attended the Dallas Sound Lab for a year. While at the Dallas Sound Lab he perfected his recording and mixing skills. He won rewards for his mixing skills and also won battle of the band contests. Josh had a passion for music and wanted to share this passion with his friends so he started teaching his friends how to play guitar. While doing this he fell in love with teaching because he was able to see his friends face light up when they had accomplished a particular guitar skill finally after lots of hard work and practice. He loves seeing his student's reactions when they finally get it. Josh will create a passion for music in students and will teach them how to be successful in playing guitar or any Instrument that he is teaching. He has an abundance of knowledge he will share about music in general and the guitar along with any other instrument that he teaches. He creates creative lesson plans using his student's interest so he can hook them to their instrument. He encourages all of his students to become the most successful musician they can be. Josh looks forward to working with his future students and creating that passion that once was created in him. *** Lesson Details *** During each lesson the first rule is to always have fun! Whether its guitar, piano, or any other instrument you are trying to learn just have fun with it. I am a very easy-going and patient teacher, but I expect my students to always do their best which means practice. Practice makes perfect and if you put 100% of PERFECT EFFORT into your lessons than you will receive the best benefit. During my lessons if you are beginner I will get you familiar with your instrument. For example if you are playing guitar I will teach you how to tune it and maintain it. In the next lessons to come you will learn how to start playing the main chords that are used in most every song, and eventually you will be able to play your favorite songs. After you get familiar with chords/notes you will be on your way to songwriting. You will learn everything you need to know including music theory to write your own songs and to start performing them for your friends. As you are getting better you will be able to start recording these songs and sharing them with anyone you want to. In a few months you will be a perfectionist at your own craft whether that be guitar, piano, singing, songwriting, or anything else you want to learn about music. No matter what you want to know about music I will be able to show you in a fun learning environment which will lead to you wanting to know more. *** Studio Equipment *** The In-Studio lessons are taught in the living room recording equipment, guitars, amps, and seating.
