Joshua W.
San Diego, California
Patient, student-centered, non-intimidating, results-oriented teaching
Patient, flexible, experienced, creative, and student-centered instruction across all styles, ages and abilities. Josh's integrative approach begins with skills you already have and develops those you will need going forward--including rhythm, sight-reading, improvisation, composition, two-hand independence, and more. Josh is a highly resourceful teacher who excels in helping students "find" the music (and musician) that is already inside them.
About Joshua W.

Josh provides patient, flexible, resourceful instruction designed around your goals. He works with students' current strengths and abilities to craft a personalized and highly effective instructional approach that is unique to each student. Even if you have never touched a musical instrument, you already have many of the skills you need to play one; the trick is to find the connection. Josh helps you make fast and effective progress from the beginning, and keeps applying the same personalized resourcefulness as you progress through the learning process. Josh is a working/touring pianist, organist, educator and music-director; a licensed and CMJ-charting songwriter and composer; and an audio engineer and producer. He teaches college, and maintains a private studio of students of all ages, abilities, and interest levels. His own love of learning and teaching creates an environment where students come away eager to advance and confident in their own potential.
