Hi, there! My name is Josh, and I look forward to teaching you how to make music! I've been teaching private lessons for several years now, and have helped my students gain the confidence to perform, improve their technique, and go on to work on more difficult repertoire. I also did some graduate assistant teaching in 2013-2014 at Belmont University, which I graduated from in May of 2015 with a Master's Degree in music composition.
I'm a flexible teacher, focusing on what you want to learn. If working from a book or other specific program helps you stay on track, we can do that! If focusing on one song at a time from some of your favorite artists works best, we can do that too! Anything I can do to help you achieve your goals is my goal. Ultimately, music is about having fun. If you're not having fun, what's the point, right? So let's have fun practicing music together!
Teaching Music Technology to music majors.
Teaching guitar, piano, and percussion to students of all ages, as well as leading the instrumental ensemble for the summer and Christmas recitals.
· Piano · In studio I've been through a few piano teachers and I have to say that Mr. Josh is the best. He makes sure that I enjoy what we are doing in the lesson and focuses on what I would like to do in the future of my piano career. He incorporates music theory into each lesson and always want to improve on my reading skills. I highly recommend him for everyone!
