My name is Joshua and I just graduated with double degrees in music education and french horn performance from the Chicago College of the Performing Arts. In Chicago I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to study with Dale Clevenger of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. While in Chicago I taught at Music For Kids, a non-profit that provides free violin and music theory lessons for any who apply. I have also authored a number of compositions that have been performed in Illinois, Maryland, Vermont, Michigan, and even Washington state. My approach to teaching includes elements of developing aural skills and using theory to help augment skills on an instrument. As one of my teachers once said to me, a good should been as inspirational as informational. Inspiring students to go out and learn music they love on their own is one of my goals for my students. Learning music should be engaging, challenging, and most importantly, fun!
