Teaching since:

My name is Joshua P. I've been playing and studying music since the age of four and have been mentored and coached by some of the most brilliant musicians alive. I had the extreme privilege of studying tenor saxophone with Matt Wallace of the Maynard Fergusen Big Band, Michael Golemo, Jack Oatts and got the chance to sit under Maria Schneider and Clark Terry Jazz ensemble, among many others. Today, I study with renowned composer Richard Danielpour and continue working on honing my skills as a player and composer.

I have 15 years of private lesson experience (including 3 years at the college level) and my students have ranged from children around 7 years old all the way to medical doctors and other professionals in their 50s and 60s. Music technique is simple to teach whereas musicianship is a bit more abstract and takes great communication. I strive to tailor the lessons to the learning style of the student with a pace that is right for them.
