Ace your next math test with the guidance of an experienced math tutor

Interested in improving in math? Want to ace your future classes? I will assist in building up the fundamental of math skills. During my senior year at high school, I used to tutor students ranging from elementary school to high school mathematics at a Mathnasium facility. I have also worked with students that range from visual learners to hands-on students to those who need repetitive practice of the same concept or even more time with the material. This experience allowed me to understand different students and approach their unique ways of learning. I believe it is more rewarding for the student if I spend more time than given in a class period to address one topic if there are potential concerns or misunderstanding of certain topics.

I am a recent graduate from Rutgers University with a Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering and a minor in Mathematics! I have tutored as math instructor at a local Mathnasium facility throughout the summers, during my senior year of high school, and whenever I have come back from college. Students will have the opportunity to massively improve their fundamentals in algebra and operational calculations on a weekly basis. Although each student learns in a different way, I teach through repetition and self-assessments in order for students to actively problem-solve while building the consistency and confidence to excel toward future exams and tests. As a college student who has gone through the rigors of accelerated math and college courses throughout my middle school and high school experience with great success, I can help students find the confidence and consistency needed to excel in these courses. I teach math to students at varying ages and levels within the concepts between elementary school math to fundamental algebra and introductory calculus. I can teach strategies to approach word problems with step-by-step procedures and techniques to solve and interpret equations through simplification and organization. While excelling in higher level classes is noteworthy and can serve as a strong reflection of a student’s abilities, I firmly believe that having a strong mastery in the fundamental basics of math and maintaining consistency in calculations in terms of minimizing errors is critical for every student. I’m excited to be able to have the opportunity to work with your student and I look forward to help them achieve their goals and dreams.

Joshua is fantastic. Skilled, patient with my children, always punctual and extremely thorough. He sends notes after the session and ensures my children are actually comprehending whatever skills they are working. Highly recommend! You won't find a better math tutor on this platform.

Joshua was very kind and patient with my son (sophomore) while tutoring in math (Algebra 2). They worked together for the better part of a school year. It was nice to have a younger tutor that "clicked" with my son. He was also very accommodating with schedule conflicts and changes. Without Joshua, I do not know how we would of made it through Algebra 2 doing virtual school. We hope that we will be able to use him again next school year.
