Calculus with Joshua M.

Greetings! I'm Joshua McBride from Tampa, Florida. English is my native language and I also speak fluent Spanish. I graduated from the University of Florida, where I was a tutor in the Math Center, assisting others learn college level math courses in individual and small group settings, through live, closed-circuit TV, as well as in large lecture halls. I served for two years as a full-time volunteer with AmeriCorps, tutoring middle and high school ESL/ELL students in English, math, and science as well as adults taking English conversational and USA Citizenship courses. Teaching is my greatest passion and experience has taught me the value of truly listening to the student in order to customize the material in the way that is best suited to his/her individual learning style(s). To me, the most important element of learning is naming immediate, short-term, and long-term goals in order to create a plan of lessons. And most importantly, I believe in making it fun and interesting!
