My focus as a teacher is to coach my students to their best performance. As they play, I encourage them to listen to their sound and then use what they hear to shape their growth. I then add to their thoughts, pointing out the positive aspects of their performance and giving them directions for how to improve.
About Joshua B.
I have been passionate about classical music my entire life. In college, I played in the university orchestra, formed a string quartet, and produced a daily radio show about music. Since I love music history and theory, I actually have two Master’s degrees, one in cello and the other in musicology. My performing career has taken me around the world; I have performed throughout the US and in several European countries. For the past year, I have been in Cincinnati, working on my doctoral degree in cello with the principal cellist of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, Ilya Finkelshteyn.
