I’m a professional bass player with a lot of experience touring around the world. Toured with Colbie Caillat, Andy Grammer, Redlight King, Ellis Hall, and lots of Jazz/funk/R&B/Pop musicians. I also do studio sessions and produce. Happy to teach everything from the fundamentals to in-depth theory, all style from slap to walking jazz bass, pop and rock, to latin and funk. I’ve been teaching for years and love helping kids and adults grow in to jamming, rocking, and writing on the bass. I also play and teach a few other instruments on a beginner level. As I said, I write and produce music at my home studio and am happy to share and teach my techniques. I write the lesson plans according to each student so that the student is learning what they want and need to know in order to have music at your finger tips. I've studied harmony and Jazz theory in college and have had several world renowned musicians as private teachers. I've been teaching for the past 5 years using the same methods and concepts that my past teachers have used.

*** Lesson Details ***
My lesson plans are based on how each particular student learns best. I have a very extensive library of music books, exercises and lessons plans from teachers who have taught me that I like to use from time to time. The magic of music is that its fun, as well as a form of artistic expression. I emphasize practice and have some creative exercises to make it seem like you're not just practicing.

*** Travel Equipment ***
I have travel size equipment to provide for lessons.

The student should have the instrument and tuner.

*** Specialties ***
My approach to learning any instrument is the same as if you were learning a new language. By learning songs you know and like you are inspired by the the learning process while teaching the theory, the student can connect the dots and have music be a comprehensible language of art and expression at their fingertips.
My mother was an educator all her life. She taught special ed in all ages through her carrier. I learned very important concepts in approaching students, understanding that everyone has a preferred way of learning and see ways to capitalize on their strengths.
