    About Josh S.

Hello! Glad you stopped by to check out my profile. I'm assuming you are looking for some help with your guitar playing, and I'm here to help! Whether you are just starting out, or have been playing for a number of years, I have the experience and skills to help you. I have been playing guitar for 18 years and have played in a variety of bands and musical settings. From blues/rock bands, jazz trios, solo acoustic gigs, big bands...I can truly say I've done just about everything. I received formal training at Berklee College of Music in Boston, specifically in guitar and composition. After graduating, I taught professionally for 5 years in Boston public schools and an after school program. The most important part of my teaching is YOU. I want our time together to be fun and for you to take the content and practice it. This is the most important part! If you don't like sight reading, scales, etc, you will probably not want to practice it. However, if we mix those in with songs you like, improvising, and jamming, I bet you'll be a little more excited about the "boring" stuff. All of this to say is that I'm very versatile in my teaching. Music is a beautiful thing to study and being excited and engaged helps make a sometimes daunting undertaking less overwhelming. Thank you!
