· Basic Math · In studio Ms. McKinney was working as a 1:1 Para with her student who is a 6th grader. She has helped him to be more independent during math. She is doing this by stepping back and not being by his side. It allows him to be held accountable for his actions or lack of. She has encouraged him to raise his hand when he needs help as well as keeps his attention on the teacher and not on her. Untimately, her goal as a 1:1 Para is to get your student to be indenedent and not rely on the aid. She has done this very well to the point that her student no longer needed an aid (1:1 Para).
