Hello! So you want to be a better musician... that's awesome! Music has brightened my life in so many ways. I am so grateful for the teachers I have had, so happy I chose to be a musician, and so eager to help you on your way. I started piano lessons when my dad forced me to, years ago... and, it stuck! Through diligent practice, in high school I won first place for my state in Music Teachers National Association competition. I studied with Andrey Ponochevney, George Lopez and Sima Kustanovich, and went on after college work as a classroom music teacher and freelance musician. There are many directions to take in music, and I have explored quite a few: Freelance jazz musician, playing at restaurants, receptions and special events Teacher of music theory in the classroom Choir director, middle school and high school Church music director I also play accordion and harmonica in an Irish Folk band... see, the possibilities are endless! I love getting to know the varied abilities of each of my students, whether they are just starting out or whether they are working on polishing Prokofiev sonatas. I hope to work with you, too!
