I began playing guitar at the age of thirteen with dreams of becoming a rock legend. I never took formal guitar lessons, but I was trained in music theory. This background helped my song writing and composition immensely and helped me to decipher the seemingly overwhelming world of music. In my lessons, I strive to add as much of this content as possible to help take some of the mystery out of what you are learning. I believe in offering a clear, logical, and practical approach to learning guitar, and I have honed this approach over twenty years of teaching experience. Throughout my musical career I have played for and founded numerous bands across Southern California, in a wide range of musical styles including rock, funk, reggae, jazz, metal, post-mod punk, as well as several cover bands. I have also written and composed over 200 hundred songs, have recorded as a session guitarist on a hip hop album, and played amazing venues such at the Whiskey-A-Go-Go and arena stadiums. Lately I have been focused on sharing my musical experience with beginning artists. Teaching is a passion of mine, as much as music is. In the future I plan to write a music theory book for modern guitarists.
