I have been a musician my entire life considering my mom was a musician her entire life! I learned piano, violin and saxophone around the age of 10 and by the age of 12, you couldn't pry the drumsticks, mallets or any percussion instrument out of my hands! Fast forward, I was top percussionist in the state of New Mexico for 3 years, have toured the country playing drum set, went to college on a music scholarship and now play in a cover band part time. I am a firm believer in the ability to read music, rhythms and know basic music theory. I also understand that it's fun to learn your favorite songs on drum set so I take an approach to lessons a little different than most. I incorporate the knowledge of basic theory and reading with the fun of playing drum set. I only teach basic-intermediate percussionists. Every instrument from hand drums-steel drums-marimba-drum set- basic Latin/jazz drum set-heavy metal (sorry parents!) Whatever interests you in the world of percussion, I can teach!
