Hello!

I am the Head of Music Publishing for a company based in the West Loop founded in 1854.

I am also an organist and pianist for a parish in Wicker Park.

I believe in the importance of music in a persons life - both young and those more experienced in years. :-D

Music should enhance ones life and bring joy to others. It should be fun!

I work with students of varying ages. I will collaborate with you to begin an enjoyable hobby or prepare for college repertory. From music theory, to reading leadsheets, and composing basic tunes.

Please feel free to contact me and ask any questions regarding my pedagogy and we can discuss realistic expectations and short/long term goals. We can tailor the lessons to fit YOUR specific desired outcomes.

I want you to succeed and have fun in the process.

If we can schedule to meet in Wicker Park, we will have access to an 8 1/2 foot concert grand.

I am also flexible doing lessons every other week, allowing busy adult students to get some practice in.

I was looking for a teacher for my 7 year old daughter and found Jordan to be such a knowledgeable and caring teacher. My daughter loves piano lessons and is learning to love music!

I’ve always been the kind of player that just plays by ear and could never get over the hump of reading actual piano music. Jordan really helped me put the pieces together. He’s fun and encouraging, which really helps too! :)

Dr. Jordan is so patient and fun to work with. As an adult learner, I was excited to start piano, but apprehensive to start at square one. Dr. Jordan is patient and loves what he does and makes piano an exciting new hobby.

Jordan is a great teacher! He 's really patient and explains things very well. Aside from just learning the notes, he teaches a lot about phrasing and dynamics. Lessons are fun but productive and I can't wait to practice once I get home.

A really fantastic experience all around. Dr. Chua is kind, attentive, and enjoyable to be taught by. I went in with almost no knowledge of piano technique, but the exercises that he taught me have helped tremendously with my music studies in general. You have to learn more than just Piano when you learn piano! I read chords, and sheet music faster. His instruction also provided a great foundation of music theory. I was really impressed by how he adjusted the lesson plan to fit my goals. I wasn't necessarily looking to play a lot of Bach or Handel or other Classical music, but he gave me a strong foundation of technique to transfer to any style. For me, I just wanted to accompany my friends when we would jam together. Overall, a fantastic experience. If I wasn't so busy with college I would take more lessons!

Energetic, ambitious, and motivating are very few words to describe Jordan. As an experienced musician with little time, I was looking for someone to help me set a routine to revitalize music-making in my day-to-day life once again. I must say, this man is powerful in his ability to further your love for music.

When I first started my lessons with Dr. Jordan, I already had some piano experience. However, it had been years since I studied and I needed to brush up on my skills before pursuing a undergrad degree in music education.

My degree requires six semesters of piano courses. Jordan and I set some objectives with the final goal being my placement into the 2nd piano class. Scheduling lessons was a very easy process as well.

Overall, Jordan is a very talented pianist and teacher His teaching method is very effective. Based on my musical background he was able to adjust our lessons to the level of instruction that was needed to meet my goal. I would highly recommend Jordan.

Jordan was a phenomenal teacher. His enthusiasm and dedication to education and personal mentor-ship are incomparable. He provided a very clear understanding of both the technical and artistic skills necessary in order to progress in the direction and pace I desired. Every lesson was highly informative but also made to be a fun learning experience.

I normally suggest children 14 and under (depending on how comfortable they are) do 30 minute lessons.

Adults and those 16+, I strongly suggest, do an hour lesson (to get the most out of the pedagogy)

I am also flexible doing lessons every other week, allowing busy adult students to get some practice in.
