English (ESL) with Jonathon N.

I am an ESL teacher born and raised in Detroit, Michigan. I studied Arabic and Middle East Studies in college and after graduation decided to continue my studies in Egypt. It was there I started teaching English to mainly Egyptians and Sudanese adults as a way to help out a local community center, make a little extra money, and to see what it might be like to pursue a career in ESL. I soon fell in love with it! I liked it so much that I decided to get a Master's degree in Applied Linguistics which would qualify me to teach ESL at colleges, universities, and language institutes. I graduated in 2012 and since then have taught at 3 universities, 1 community college, and 1 language institute in Michigan, and a language institute in Jordan. I moved back to Michigan with my family early 2020 and look forward to continuing teaching ESL in my community. I know first hand what second language learners experience and feel I am well equipped to help you achieve your goals with the English language! I look forward to meeting you!
