Jonathan is a Grammy Quarterfinalist who has been performing and teaching in the Charlotte area and CMS Schools since 2012. He earned his Bachelor of Music degree in Trumpet Performance from Emory and Henry College and then went on to earn a Master of Music degree in Trumpet Performance and Music Theory/Composition from the University of Louisiana at Monroe. Jonathan has performed in many ensembles throughout his career including the New River Brass Quintet, the Symphony of the Mountains, the Monroe Symphony Orchestra, as well as with many others while in college and graduate school. He has traveled through Europe to perform and has also performed across the United States at national and international competitions and conferences. He currently serves as the Director of Orchestras and Guitar at Palisades High School, as a bassist with the Charlotte Civic Orchestra, the Conductor of the Gaston String Orchestra, and teaches private lessons in brass and stringed instruments. He has had many students place highly in the various honors music groups in throughout the state of North Carolina and is proud to be part of NCMEA, NAfME, and the American String Teacher Association.
