New to the Bay area, Jonathan strives to inspire creativity and passion in young saxophonists. It is through music that they can find more than just how to read notes, but also how to have fun, find out who they are, and make great things happen in the world. Through music, you learn how to fly; anything is possible.
Early on, Jonathan grew up in central Arizona and became the first musician in his family. Playing all sizes of saxophone throughout Elementary and High School, he developed a fiery passion for Classical saxophone inspired by performers including Sigurd Rascher, John-Edward Kelly, and Michael Hernandez.
Jonathan has performed as a concert saxophonist in areas all around the country, including Maryland, Mississippi, Arizona and more recently the Bay area. While attending GCC in Glendale, AZ, Jonathan performed multiple recitals showing off the works of composers including J. S. Bach, Glazunov, Ibert, Knorr, Mozart, Noda and Desenclos.
As Alto Saxophonist of the Zēlos Quartet, Jonathan performs with other rising Saxophonists in the Bay area. All four quartet members currently attend San Jose State University, studying with legendary Soprano Saxophonist Michael Hernandez.
