During my masters degree at UNCG, I taught all levels of music theory and ear-training.

I have been teaching piano to all ages for over a decade.  I firmly believe that a strong foundation in theory and technique are necessary to develop as a musician and unlock the personal joy of creating music.

My teaching is geared toward understanding the particular learning style of each student (visual, auditory, kinesthetic) and crafting a system for success.  

Each lesson and the week's practice assignments will cover theory, technical exercises, repertoire, and integrated musical games.

I'm here to share my experience and to help make learning the craft of music fun!

Jonathan began studying piano at age eight, and has continued developing his skills as a performer and teacher for nearly two decades.  He has a Bachelors degree in Piano Performance and holds a Masters degree from the University of North Carolina in Music Theory.  

Jonathan strongly believes that it is never too late to develop the skills necessary to master something that you love.

I had a fantastic time expanding my musical understanding and abilities playing/studying the accordion under Jonathan!  He always has a great attitude, and I found him to be very knowledgeable.  From my lessons I gained, greater confidence in playing, higher understanding of music, and an enjoyable passion in maintaining my accordion practice.  He's a great teacher, and the lessons I had are always with me!  Highly recommended for anyone interested in taking accordion lessons.
