Singing with Jonathan M.

I am a Choir Director who has taught voice and piano for 6 years. I graduated with my bachelor's degree in Church Music and Music Education from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. Helping young singers navigate their voice and find their own style of singing is a passion of mine. Students can expect to learn all aspects of vocal production during lessons which include pedagogy, technique, and music literacy. I want students to set and achieve goals for themselves and encourage singing in a variety of styles. I teach both classical and contemporary voice which spans several genres including opera, choral, pop, rock, country, and jazz. Both piano and voice students can expect the same structure in lessons that focus on the students needs and goals for their instrument. Warm ups, sight reading, and careful selection and practice of repertoire are all incorporated.
