Music Theory with Jonathan K.

Hi! My name is Jonathan Kretchmer, and I am a music teacher. I've been obsessed with music since a very young age, and quickly fell in love with many different facets of music, including performance, composition, theory, history, and production. I studied classical composition at the University of Redlands, where I graduated with Summa Cum Laude Honors. Over the last few years, I have developed a love for all genres of music, including jazz, folk, soul, and hip-hop. I have written several papers relating to the history and analysis of hip-hop and produce and perform my own. I have been teaching music for nearly 10 years, working with students aged 5 to 25. I have taught music theory, composition, performance, and history to students of different ages, and have a wide background of expertise in these fields. As a student, I learned that an engaged teacher that cares about their subject is a good teacher, and I strive to share my love for music with my students. I try to use many different teaching styles to keep students as engaged and interested as I am. In short, I love music, and I love sharing my passion with others. I hope you're interested!
