Classical Voice with Jonathan C.

Jonathan performed on many regional, national and international stage in Beauty and the Beast (Gaston), South Pacific (Lt. Cable), Urinetown(Officer Lockstock), Bare, A Pop Opera (Jason), Altar Boyz(Matthew), Beau Nash (Jasper), Trouble in Tahiti (Sam), Les Contes D’Hoffmann (Dapertutto), The Riddle (The Prince), and A Midsummer Night’s Dream(Lysander). Jonathan has participated in master classes with Erie Mills, Michael Harper, Elisabeth Battaglia, Nigel Foster, Lady Errollyn Wallen, and Christine Andreas. Additionally, Jonathan has had the privilege to sing for Vice President Joe Biden at is annual Christmas party in 2012 and for Pope Francis during the Washington, D.C. Papal Mass in 2015. In 2010, Jonathan received scholarship to study at the University of Northern Colorado where he would pursue his Masters in Music, with a concentration in Voice and Opera performance. Jonathan had the privilege of studying under world renowned and published pedagogue Dr. Melissa Malde while completing his Master’s Degree and only three semesters. While attending this highly concentrated program Jonathan served as a teaching assistant, where he worked with students of the university and assisted with undergraduate level classroom teaching. Following the completion of his Master’s Degree, Jonathan immediately began work on his Doctorate of Musical Arts at The Catholic University of America in Washington DC. Here he would study with Professor Rick Christman, a highly acclaimed opera singer and vocal coach, who studied under the international operatic super star Franco Corelli. Over the last five years Jonathan has established himself in the greater Washington Area as a pedagogical technician teacher for voice and piano. Currently, in addition to teaching private lessons, Jonathan serves as an Assistant Professor at Northern Virginia Community College.
